Tim Burns serves the Firm as Partner-in-charge of the Telecommunications Division. Tim's many years of experience in this area has led to an extensive knowledge of the cellular and cable industries as well. Working closely with various state Public Service Commissions, Tim has expanded his experience to include other regulated industries. Tim also provides accounting and consulting services in the governmental, commercial and not-for-profit environment. Tim serves Smith, Turner & Reeves as Continuing Education Director, developing a suitable program of continuing education for each professional staff member and arranging in-house educational programs.
Tim is a 1979 graduate of Mississippi State University and active in a number of professional organizations. He recently served on the Board of Trustees of St. Richard's Elementary School and currently serves on the Board of Directors of St. Joseph Catholic School. Tim and his wife Becky, along with their children Jackie and Joseph, are communicants of St. Francis parish. A Natchez, Mississippi native, Tim had previous experience with Natchez and Starkville, Mississippi CPA firms prior to joining Smith, Turner & Reeves.
